About PEPFAR Watch

PEPFAR Watch, an initiative of the Center for Health and Gender Equity (CHANGE), is an information clearinghouse and advocacy tool for the U.S. President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR). PEPFAR Watch particularly emphasizes the prevention of sexual transmission of HIV.  This website provides an up-to-date and accurate source of information and analysis on U.S. global HIV/AIDS policies and funding, so that advocates can ensure U.S. foreign policy promotes evidence-based practices and human rights. PEPFAR Watch also mobilizes grassroots advocates and civil society actors from the U.S. and internationally through education, campaign actions and network-building.

The Center for Health and Gender Equity (CHANGE) is a U.S.-based non-governmental organization whose mission is to ensure that U.S. international policies and programs promote sexual and reproductive health within a human rights framework for women and girls worldwide.  CHANGE advances its mission by monitoring the impact of U.S. policies and programs overseas, and advocating for effective, evidence-based policies and increased funding for critical HIV/AIDS, reproductive health and family planning programs.
